Are the Panthers Playoff Bound?

Hello Smash fans and welcome back! In this installment, I want to talk about what Carolina acquiring Stephon Gilmore means for them moving forward. Without further ado, let’s get into it.

For those who don’t know, Stephon Gilmore is a top-five corner in the NFL when healthy, this means he makes that Carolina defense, which is already one of the best in the league, even more imposing. No matter the offense, they are going to have a hard time scoring on this team. With that being said, there are going be a lot of low-scoring Carolina games. With this being said, Carolina’s running game is one of the best in the league with Christian McCaffrey. This defense is going to help the offense be the best version of itself and I’m very high on this for the Carolina panthers.

I think this acquisition could be what puts Carolina into the playoffs this year. Now I’m not 100% sure, however, I believe this raises their ceiling to the point where they could make the playoffs. Additionally, I now definitely see this team as above 500, and I could see them winning as many as 10 games. I think this signing helped the Panthers get better, not just now, but also for the future as it gives the young Carolina defense someone to look up to.

Overall, this is a great move for the Panthers and I cannot emphasize how much this will mean for the franchise moving forward, I truly think this will be one of the first steps for a Carolina team that will be a Super Bowl contender three years down the line.
